Kview Beta Privacy Policy
Kview keeps your work on your Mac. We collect only what we need to run your account, answer your feedback and deliver updates, and we never sell it.
1. Who we are
Kview is made by Ilia Korovin, a sole trader trading as Korovin.ai (ABN 38 714 450 533), based in Victoria, Australia ("we", "us"). Questions about privacy go to [email protected].
2. What stays on your Mac
Kview stores your reviews, screenshots, notes, annotations, settings and its own error log on your Mac only. Kview does not send any of it to us or to anyone else, and we cannot see it. Kview has no analytics, tracking or advertising.
Your review data leaves your Mac only when you move it: when you copy it, when an AI agent you use reads it, or when a service such as iCloud Drive syncs the folder it is in. Those services' own terms and policies apply.
Websites you open in Kview receive the same kind of information a web browser sends them, and their own policies apply. Screenshots can contain other people's personal information from those websites. That information stays under your control, and you are responsible for how you use it.
3. What we collect
| What | When | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Your email address | When you create an account | To identify your account, send sign-in links and service messages, and reply to your feedback |
| The ID, name, profile picture link and (for GitHub) username that Google or GitHub shares | If you sign in with Google or GitHub | To link that sign-in to your Kview account. We never receive your password |
| The version of the Beta Terms you accepted, and when | At sign-up and when the terms change | To record your agreement |
| Whether you want news from Korovin.ai, and a record of when and how you agreed or unsubscribed (time, the wording shown, IP address and browser) | At sign-up, and whenever you change it | To send Korovin.ai news only if you opted in, and to show that you agreed |
| Feedback you send, its category and time, and your Kview and macOS versions unless you untick them | When you send feedback | To read, act on and reply to it |
| Technical records: IP address, browser or app version, and the times of requests | When you sign in, when Kview refreshes your session, and when Kview checks for or downloads an update | To run the service securely, prevent abuse and fix faults |
We do not collect your contacts, payment details, your Mac's name, or anything from the websites you review.
4. How we use it
- To provide, secure and support your account, including sign-in emails and messages about the service. You cannot opt out of these while you have an account.
- To read and reply to feedback, and to improve Kview.
- To send news about Korovin.ai's products and services, including Kview, only if you opted in. Every such email has an unsubscribe link.
- To meet our legal obligations and enforce our terms.
We do not sell or rent personal information, use it for advertising, or make automated decisions about you. For people in the EU and UK, our legal bases are: performing our contract with you (account, sign-in, service emails); our legitimate interests in security, fixing faults and improving Kview; your consent (Korovin.ai news); and legal obligations.
5. Who we share it with
We use the service providers below to run parts of Kview. They process your information on our behalf and only for that purpose.
| Provider | What it does for Kview | Information involved | Where |
|---|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Accounts, sign-in and feedback storage | Email, sign-in details, terms record, feedback, technical records | Stored in Sydney, Australia. Supabase is a US company, and its staff may access data from other countries |
| Resend | Sends sign-in emails and forwards feedback to us | Email address and email content | US company; emails are sent through Amazon Web Services in Tokyo, Japan |
| Sign in with Google, if you use it; our mailbox (Google Workspace), where support and feedback emails arrive | Sign-in details; emails you send us | US company, global infrastructure | |
| GitHub | Sign in with GitHub, if you use it | Sign-in details | US company (Microsoft) |
| Cloudflare | Delivers downloads and updates; runs our domain names | IP address and request details | US company, global network |
| DigitalOcean | Hosts korovin.ai, including the sign-in and account pages | IP address and request details | US company; korovin.ai is hosted in Sydney, Australia |
| MongoDB Atlas | Stores korovin.ai's records: Korovin.ai news subscriptions and consent, and account deletions | Email, consent records (time, wording shown, IP address and browser) | US company; stored in Sydney, Australia |
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety or our legal rights. If Korovin.ai becomes a company or Kview is transferred to another business, your information moves with it, and we will tell you first.
6. Information sent overseas
Some of these providers are outside Australia, or can access information from outside it: mainly in the United States and Japan, and in the other countries where Google and Cloudflare operate. The laws there may not protect personal information in the same way as Australian law. We choose established providers with published security and data protection commitments. For people in the EU and UK, transfers rely on the data protection terms these providers offer, including standard contractual clauses where they apply.
7. How long we keep it
- Account information: while your account exists. We delete it within 30 days of you deleting your account.
- Feedback: 24 months, or sooner if you delete your account. Emails you send us are kept only as long as needed to deal with them, and no more than 24 months.
- Korovin.ai news: your subscription and the record of your consent are kept while you are subscribed and for 2 years after you unsubscribe, so we can show you agreed. We also keep your email address on a do-not-email list, so you never receive news from us again after unsubscribing.
- Technical records: kept by our providers for a short time, usually days and never more than 90 days, unless needed to investigate abuse.
8. No backups during the beta
We do not keep backups of beta account data. If it is lost, you may need to create your account again. Your reviews are not affected, because they are on your Mac. Kview does not back them up either, so keep your own copies.
9. Security
Information travels over encrypted connections. It is stored with our providers, who encrypt it and restrict access. Kview has no passwords: you sign in with a one-time email link or code, or with Google or GitHub. Kview keeps its sign-in token encrypted on your Mac, protected by the macOS Keychain. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we will tell you and, where the law requires, the regulator.
10. Your choices and rights
- See or correct your information: email [email protected].
- Delete your account: at korovin.ai/kview/account, or by emailing [email protected]. This deletes your account, your terms record and your feedback, and unsubscribes you from Korovin.ai news.
- Stop Korovin.ai news: use the unsubscribe link in any such email, or your account page.
- EU and UK: you also have the right to erasure, restriction, portability and objection, to withdraw consent at any time, and to complain to your local data protection authority.
We respond within a reasonable time, and within one month where the law requires it. To protect your account, we may ask you to write from your account's email address.
Complaints: please contact us first. If you are not satisfied with our answer within 30 days, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
11. Age
Kview is for professionals aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone younger. If you believe we have, tell us and we will delete it.
12. Cookies
korovin.ai uses only the cookies and browser storage needed for sign-in and security, such as the sign-in session and Cloudflare's bot protection. It uses no advertising or analytics cookies.
13. Changes to this policy
Each version has a number and an effective date. For an important change, we will tell you by email or in Kview before it takes effect.
